Commissary

In Spring 2022, WSCAT moved the 128-year-old Commissary to a site chosen by the Warm Springs community–along Highway 26, a major corridor between Portland and Central Oregon.

In the year ahead, we're turning this former BIA (Bureau of Indian Affairs) storehouse into a community campus with cafe, food carts, retail stores, and a small business incubator. With space for retail and food businesses, co-working, a pop-up arts and culture store, and a welcome place for visitors to shop, this site will help revitalize the historic ‘Agency’ area of Warm Springs. We're creating  a community gathering space to connect new retail businesses and bring visitors to our community, all year round.

As a powerful symbol of entrepreneurial spirit and transformation, the Commissary is turning a former place of government dependence into a beautiful, modern space for invention, coworking, and business support. The Commissary hosts retail and gathering spaces where tribal entrepreneurs imagine, hone, and share ideas born on the Warm Springs Reservation. Come visit: we're opening for business!
