Youth Business Support

During the 2023-2024 school year, WSCAT partnered with Madras High School to sponsor the American Indian Business Leaders (AIBL) club. The students participated in a small business class and developed a business over the course of the school year. The inaugural program had 20 graduates, primarily Seniors at Madras High School. These students also had the opportunity to attend the Rez Conference, where they presented their business pitch and business plan. They won for the category of High School business plan!

After the success of the program the first year, we continue to operate the AIBL Club at Madras High School. In 2025, youth participated in a Youth Business Day to share their business plans and give business pitches to funders and sponsors of the event. This will continue into future years.

Youth who participate in our Summer Youth Workforce Program have opportunities to attend field trips to learn about business development and gain skills. They have attended the OAME small business conference and taken field trips to businesses, including the Portland Trailblazers. For more information, go to the Summer Youth Workforce Program Page.
