Trailblazer Partnership
WSCAT has partnered in multiple programs with the Portland Trailblazers over the past couple of years. The partnership allows WSCAT to assist youth in sports activities programming.
Some projects that have taken place under this partnership include:
Buffalo Nightwalkers Youth Basketball League - two nights per year youth run a basketball league for first through high school age youth. This activity provides a safe space for youth to come together to socialize and be active. It includes a free Buffalo Nightwalkers Summer Tournament, a tournament that ends in blacklight championship games.
Provide emergency food stipends to high school athletes that need money to pay for dinner during away games.
Free tickets to attend Portland Trailblazers basketball games.
Youth take field trips to the Portland Trailblazers, where they are able to take a tour of the facility and talk to people who work with the team, giving them information about a variety of careers that are available to youth in the sports field.
Sponsoring new jerseys for the Warm Springs Community Wellness Center and their basketball programming.
