Kiahna Allen
Julia Wolfe
Kiahna Allen and Julia Wolfe have been training in whitewater kayaking since 2021. They are involved with the Paddle Tribal Waters program and participated in the first descent down the Klamath River after the recent breach of dams on the Klamath River in summer 2025. Their kayak journey has also taken them to study abroad through the World Class Academy where they travelled to Chile to continue their formal education as well as further develop their kayak skills on a daily basis in international waters.
Kiahna and Julia both began working with WSCAT in 2023 as part of our youth workforce program. They came to the program interested in kayaking and a strong desire to take what they have learned to teach others about traditional waterways, whitewater kayak skills, and Native languages. After joining the workforce program, the two teenagers co-founded Wana Waixtishama, a program that assists their peers in making strong connections to their own waters through water education, whitewater kayaking, and conducting instruction in Ichishkiin, one of the local tribal languages. They have spoken to rooms full of funders and raised over $12,500 for their program. They plan to continue to grow the program, with the goal to establish their bond to water and culture, in turn making them lifelong water protectors.
